Couple of options I reckon:

1. cut them to length required and re-machine thread into strut tube.
2. cut section out and re-weld threaded setion to the top of the strut.

May be other ways but those prob the simplest..

I just cut the spring platforms off of mine with a 6" grinder and now need to get some inserts.

Fair enough, that's gives you the recipe anyway as to what you need to do to build a set.

Hey there, newbie question again! :)

I've been reading everything I can and I can't find a straight answer!

I want to put coilovers in the front of my '85 1200 ute, but I want to change as little things as possible, so I was wondering ... Can I get some 45mm OD KYB Gas Adjust inserts and weld on a coilover sleeve and put on the strut leg (Can it be removed and swapped, this has me stumped as well) and bob is basicly my uncle?

I would also like to fit bigger brakes in the future, so should I look at changing the strut types?

If someone can help me that would be great!
