I thought I'd post some pics of the tonneau that trimmer (Steve) made up for me. He did an awesome job at a good price - dropped the datsun off on saturday afternoon and picked it up today (mon). Tonneau is made out of marine vinyl and looks awesome, made to fit with press studs, a support bar and attached at the front. Very happy with his work and will get him to do my dash and door cards soon! His number is 0420217892.
Here are some pics:

When I get around to having some spacers made up to allow them to move on the rails. I was thinking I might try to get aluminum ones to keep the weight down?

Well it's been a lot longer than I'd planned and sucked up a whole lot more cash, but the Datto passed the vehicle standards inspection (thanks to Steve for the vanette manifold with the pollution control crap). Rolled out/trimmed the front guards to suit the bigger wheels and it's all set. Been driving it around a bit and it seems to go pretty well.
There are still a few bits and pieces I'd like to do like get some new dash lights, fix the few paint chips, get a better wiper system, tonneau cover etc but I'm pretty happy with the result. I'll post up some pics over christmas

Ok so it's been a while. Datsun got here, but arrived with lots of paint chips taken out of the front and side. It looks like it's been hit with bits of gravel or something. TOLL weren't having a bar of it when I rang up to complain and said that "due to the age of the vehicle" they weren't going to fix it. I've had a bit more of a whinge and they are going to come out and have a look. Pretty dark about it though.
I took my coilover struts up to maddat and they are putting the S13 disc brakes on them, but apparently they are some weirdo early 120Y struts and so it's taking a while to get bearings for them. The rear drums were also seized and since I don't really know what I'm doing I figured it was safer to get them to have a look. Should all be ready today though, then I just have to put on my new bumper and take it through the rego inspection. Pics up soon!

Does anyone have a nice looking bumper or set of centre plastic things for jellybean wheels that they're willing to part with?
