lol. Touche, Will be gettin re-bored anyways and wont need to much. Crank on the other hand... i think ill need some bigger bearings.

Ive been good, neglecting my project just for a change. Always part trawling but Playstation has eaten all my time.

The was shattered in the bore but it was held together by the rings and soot. ait didnt properly crumble till the rings where removed. you can see on that picture that there is a hairline fracture nearly cracked right through (passes just under the gudgeon).

Suprisingly the bore is in good condition... acceptable condition.

LIAR!!

How are you anyway Tom?

Just a quick question did the piston break completely on removal or was it broken altogether (or just cracked)?

One of the rod bolts was belt like a lightning bolt that i actually had to wail on it with a hammer just to be able to push the piston up the bore.

Suprisingly the bore is in good condition... acceptable condition.

I picked up this block on ebay about a year ago as a base to build an A15 from the ground up this weekend I got round to ripping it up and assesing the damage. Seems the rod bolts let go smashing the piston into the valve (going by the valve shaped notch on my piston),that force got pushed back through the rocker and bannana'ed one of the pushrods. I never saw the head but i dont think that valve would be sitting to well.

It was good do the autopsy to actually work out where this sucker failed... I already have better rod bolts waiting for the build.

Ill have to keep the piston as a reminder to be nice to my datsun.
