Nissan doesn't mention it for the ute, but says the purpose of the coupe/sedan side vents is:

This [cabin] air is exhausted from the slip shape air outlets on the rear pillar. Thus, the body is ventilated sufficiently -- even with all the windows rolled up.

They don't mention drying out the interior -- it is for ventilation.

they arnt doing a very good job of drying up condensation as my sills are rusted out.

Don't they also serve to draw air through the body to help dry any condensation? That's the usual reason there are vents through the body rather than just at the back of the cabin. I don't have my book handy to check.

yeah mate i have 2 build pages going lol one has my black ute with SR conversion half done that has been stuck at my mums for 2 years untouched, then there is the rusty white one which was suposed to be a quick fix and be my daily but is turning into more of a complete rebuild lol i cant seem to post pics so you have to be my friend on facebook to see the pics lol

you could seal them and put the vents back on if you just want to deter the rust

and im not usre thay conect to the inside of the cabit .I thought they were vents for the rear quarters ,but im no expert !
