What gear box do you run to get a 1:1 5th?
Alot of the Civics in ipra nsw run that... I've been loking for a closer ratio box myself.
Does it still run the the standard housing?

My SR20DET gearbox has a 1:1 5th gear, so I need the 3:1 ratio to get a speed of about 250km/h at 6800 rpm.

The commodores/falcons are a challenge there, they are very fast down conrod.

with a restrictor, you will want to be changing gears at about 5000 - 5500 rpm. You need about 230km/h at phillip Island, 200 at Winton, and 250 at bathurst. Dont know other tracks, sorry.

I have attached a picture of the speeds sheet that I use to calculate ratios for the stock gearbox.

But if you have a stock gearbox, you will be able to get away with a shorter diff, as you will have an overdrive, which I dont.

Im running a r33 rb25 non turbo box and im running a 4.8 at eastern creek (Fast but not quite PI or Bathurst), id like to get my hands on a 5.1 for tracks like Wakefield and Winton...
Peak power in mine is 8400 though..

It always amazes me how wide the track looks on any video footage but when you actually drive it the walls are squeezing you in everywhere, even at public road speeds..
Gotta be impressed with anyone that actually hits the gas while coming down from skyline to conrod, that is some steep tarmac!

SO what your saying is the 4.3 that I have in my rear end is too short for most circuits?
Damit another thing to add to the list of part to buy.

I am running a 3:1 diff ratio, as nothing else was long enough for Bathurst. Keeping in mind that max power is at 4500, the longer the diff the better.

I will probably run the same diff ratio everywhere, as this engine combination with that restrictor is more like a diesel in performance, so the lower the better.
