I find lots of wheels at wrecking yards, craigslist, swap meets. I haven't bought any new ones. But Panasports has them.

The wheels mostly come from Toyotas, and Datsuns like the 280Z. Plus vintage wheels from Mustang and Camaro six-cyliner models.

Look for 4.5" instead of the 114.3 metric conversion. Most were made as 4.5" bolt circle wheels. Only the "sport compact" crowd in USA calls them metric.

I'm not finding the 13" alloy wheels. For example, I just did an Ebay Motors search on the terms <13" wheels 4x114.3> and I got "23 matches found for: 13" wheels 4x114.3". Only 8 of these were actually 13" wheels. And of these, 5 were 13x8 which are too wide.

I'd be all over a deal. But my limited (2 to 3 weeks)experience on searching for wheels is yielding only a few hits new or used.

I'm wondering if 13" wheels are almost extinct. At least when it pertains to new wheels. It also appears that 13" tires will soon join them on the endangered list.

Any tips on where to look would be appreciated... Also since you are located semi-locally... Which wrecking yards do you frequent for your Datsun parts? My local yard has doesn't have any 110, b210 or 310 donor cars.

Yes. Just make sure it has the 4 on 4.5" bolt pattern.

I see lots of 13" wheels for sale -- easy to find. But on the other hand, ordering brand new wheels is a problem as 15" and larger is now common even on economy cars.


I have 14x7 on my 1200 with zero offset. It is a tight fit with stretched tires (175/60R14).

Wheels are getting difficult to find in the 13" sizes.
I'm trying to find a reasonable increase (+1) without affecting acceleration. From what I've read the more weight on the tire& wheel combo. The slower it will accelerate the mass (equal to a heaver flywheel). In essence it eats torque/horsepower. It also affects economy (thought this is not a primary concern).

I want to keep the unsprung weight to a minimum. On my motorcycle the affects of this are very obvious. I'm thinking that the concept also applies to a 1200, but to a lesser extent.

My questions... I found a 13x5 alloy wheel with a +30 offset. Per the Tech Wiki the stock 12x4 steel wheel also has a +30 offset. Would it be correct to conclude that his wheel will fit? From a clearance standpoint, would this result in adding 1/2" to both the inside and outside of the stock wheel?

Though the wheels are new, they are not returnable. So I want to get it right the first time.

BTW... I plan on using 185/60-13 tires. These appear to be a very close match to the overall size of the 155/80-12. Does anyone have tire recommendations in this size?
