I am a big fan of Konis mate.

Pull a shock off and drop down to your favourite suspension shop. They will be able to compare them to what's available and find you the right option.

Take a measurement on your existing shocks of(overall length)full bump and full rebound, also what each mounting end looks like.Take this info to Pedders(convenient)and have them go through there computer comparing your numbers to what they have and for what vehicle. You can then make an informed decision based on the vehicle there from with regard to hard/soft/sporty etc.
I don't believe anyone makes a crappy shock these days for road use it's more about how many thousands of K's they will last for.

I have a pair of low mileage (kilometreage?) red konis sitting in my shed. They did about 5,000 km after I fitted them new to my 1200 coupe. The coupe is long gone and I don't anticipate getting another one (got an SR20 Sunny coupe now )If you're interested, I'd want $250.00 for the pair and I reckon they might be a better bet than a pair of Repco shocks.

I have been running the non-gas Kpni adjustable shocks............don't remember what series but they are the bottom and twist to adjust type. They must be over 20 years old and are rebuildable, I've been very happy with them. And as they are non pressurized shipping them won't be an issue regardless of where in the world you find them.

Yikes they charge a lot. Nissan USA only $65 each.

For $250 I would expect fully adjustable.

Thanks dd, if only I was in the states. They wont ship shocks outside the US as they can be sent normal freight, due to the pressurised gas.

However can get stock shocks through nissan
56210-H1825 Much easier when you enquire with part number. But $290 each and 4 - 6 weeks wait as ex Japan.

Repco have their own option at $249 for pair.

Yet to try Koni

But might ring Pedders for some more info on there option.

Cheers

Spax do custom shocks that are hard to go past for the coin.
Last time I looked a single KSX to suit a lowered 1200 coupe were 80pound each.
and about 80 pound delivery direct from the factory.
If you can be bothered to spend a few extra $$$.
Then again, maybe my idea of cheap is not anyone elses.

I use shocks in my coupe sourced from a Holden Gemini coupe. They are short and are well suited to lowered KB110's. Konis are available.

Don't you guys with Monroe have the suspension slightly bounce on bumpy roads? What is so good about them? I recently took my new Monroe's off and put the original Nissan/KYB ones back on, ride is much smoother and better handling now. Less skittish on corners. Monroes are B210 shocks, for a much heavier car (20% heavier). B210 coupe shocks physically interchange with B110 coupe, but the valving specifications differ.

What about the KYB GR2 shocks for Datsun 1200 Coupe?
http://www.amazon.com/KYB-343143-GR-2-Shock/dp/B000C42R2I

Nissan USA lists Coupe shocks in the 2011 catalog:
56210-H1825 Shock Absorber
Most likely they would need to be ordered from Japan (not in stock in USA)

You can buy the Coupe new old stock here: http://classicgarage.com/nid12brepa.html

Gabriel Classic 82020 $14/each at Rockauto.com Gabriel
