A datsun with a two litre engine will get smoked by a datsun with a 1.4 on a tight winding road/track.

A 1.4 liter engine is not going to keep up with a 2 liter built similarly.

And forced induction without intercooling is so 1970s.

Blower is mounted with the lobes side by side. Carburated drawthrough.
Goes well. I've kelled a few motors through tuning deficiancies. Seems to be pretty reliable now though.
Gone 14.1 on the 1/4 mile.

Is that the charger on the side? did you go fuel injected? or running off a carb?
Is the motor handling the power or does it give problems every now and then.
What kw should i expect?
Other wise i want to put in a sr20det or the opel ecotec.
I love the 1400 tho really do but if it cant handle the power then there is no point.

I would think if you could afford the EFI hardware, system and the manifolding then go with that, nothing better than tune-ability (well fine-tune-ability for that matter).

Many people who do the SC14/12 conversion do with a down draft, draw through weber (Either a 32/36 DGV or DGAV or a Holley). But a decent side-draft SU (or bike carb) used on another format of SC will work well too.

I'm going with an Eaton m45 and factory a-series EFI assembly.

Here are some links:

Eaton M45 With Holley(?)

Jarryd's For Sale Ad Aisin SC (??)

Datsa73 SC'd Z24 Twin Webers

Do a search for 'Supercharged' or SC14 or SC12 and use the 'Slow Search' search bar.

thanks for the reply. What do you think is the better 1 draw or blow?
Is it better to have it converted to injectet or would it be fine on the carb?
Sorry for the 21 questions but this is my 1st time learning about the supercharged side of things.

If you have the money get a quality supercharger, sprintex make a beautiful unit and so do Eaton (even second hand low km units would be fine).

Otherwise go ahead with the SC14 (or SC12) off the 4AGZE as these are fairly cheap and quite common.

Then I guess the next thing on the agenda would be delivery, draw through or blow through and then following that would be carburetor or electronic fuel injection.

Good luck with it, I think superchargers are a very good path to take.
