Shouldn't be a problem. I have just installed C20 vanette axles into a Stanza housing for the Sunny with only a few mm clearance at spline end. I was going to chop 10 or so mm off each axle if need be because only the last 20mm or so was being used. Shorten it up and look at Stanza or ute axles - the right combo might just pop out.
Cheers.

When I measured a Vannette diff I found it to be 105mm wider overall than a 1200. Someone on here reckoned that the 720 H190 was bolt in, and was less wide than the van diff.
Pluss not all of the spline in used, so you could shorten it just a wee bit without a respline.

would like to shorten my diff a little to make it easier to fit nice wheels (more matched offset to whats required up front)

it's a h190 from a vanette so 45mm wider either side (90mm overall)

i wonder if i can shorten it without resplining the axles by 10mm or so either side?

or should i just bite the bullet and shorten?

i have a topgear lsd for it so not really keen to go another diff

how much would it cost to shorten?
