The spool crank is looking so tasty at only $1190, but i will be looking at running some goods cams first before thinking about the crank. Check out http://www.nengun.com for solid lifters, can get cams through cj motors. I wish i went some solid 260+10 on my setup

depends what you are going to do with it.. the stock cranks have been proven up to and over 750hp with the right preperation. i cant remember what they cost off the top of my head (something like $1800 i think?) you could prep a few standard cranks for that price.. in saying that i was going to use one, simply because i was buying a bare block to build up, i also had a fairly hefty turbo that i wanted to spool as quick as possible, was also going to run nitrous.

So in 95% of applications you dont really NEED a billet crank, but if money is no objective, then why not?

Hi everyone in a few months ill be rebuilding a ca18det just wondering whether or not its worth spending the coin and putting a spool stroker crank in it to gain only 133cc i will be putting spool conrods,cp pistons arp head studs, high quality gaskets, acl race series bearing,i figure that if i am going to rebuild the motor i mays well put the best quality items i can get.
