Mmmm I'm sure theres a couple of N14's at the local wrecker so will got check them out in the next day or two.

Ange...I don't have a problem pulling the struts out of the car to weld on the brackets. I just didn't want to have to pull the actual shocker cartridge out of the strut (as I had to take them to Brakes Plus to get them put in as I couldn't get that large top retaining nut undone and they slugged me big time for the priveledge).

I used N14 pulsar brake lines for my conversion, they have heaps of length. They do however also have the fitting half way along to fit the strut mounting bracket. Great if you have 1200 disk struts (like i did) but you'll need to weld a bracket onto 120Y ones i believe.

Ok that pics helped (thanks Benny and Ange)..looks like I should be welding a bracket to my strut and utilising the S13 hose from caliper to the bracket. I was feeling like just having one long hose dangling there was a bit wrong!
Hope I can tack something on without having to pull the struts out.

i welded a clamp (from my 1200 struts) to the 120y strut to support the hose as it sweeps to the front

mine are plenty long, perhaps there is more than one type of hose for s13?

an old pic

I had rubber hoses crimped up for the nomad gear in the bluebird, prices aren't what I remember them 7 years ago. You could get rubber lines made for under 100 and braided was 190 but this rbber lot cost me 160, granted I asked for springs to cover the lines but they shouldn't be much.

Ange you've got me interested in how you did that as I just got quoted $200 to have some longer braided lines made up. It looks to me like I need at least another 5-6inches over the standard S13 hoses to allow enough length for the full steering sweep. I've got 120Y struts which don't have any mounting point on them so the hose would go to the standard 1200 bracket mounted on the inner guard and connect to the hardline at that point. Are you using more than one rubber hose??

bolts no, lines I'll see how good they are. If they check out fine then name a price lower than a carton

edit: you also gotta put your location in the profile info so we're not assuming your in melbourne or "south australia"
