Most do. Mine is an old air separator from a paint booth or some thing. Easy to check but more condensation than oil

well its probably gonna be a catch can then, I did pick up a charcoal canister that I was thinking of running it all to including the fuel vent valve on the firewall but that thing is pretty ugly. I think I got it off a mid 80's pulsar.

do catch cans have a drain plug on them or some way to clean them out?

Prior to EPA, all cars just vented to atmosphere. The pipe goes down to the 'airstream' below the sump so it is sucked out behind the car. Sort of. Then later, due to EPA forcing the automakers, the PCV system was utilized to 'positively' ventilate the crankcase. It not only helps the environment, it's better for the engine too. But it costs a few dollars, so wasn't used until required.

The redline chrome sport filters have a port in the the back that allows for a 'plug-in' of your crank/rocker fumes. Unfortunately their filters are shyte and you loose some performance. What ever you do (with your custom setup) just be sure to plumb the feed in after the air-cleaner. Saw a setup not long ago that was feeding before the element. The element was subsequently soaked in oil some weeks later.

If you plumb the feed into the runners after the throttle valves you also save your weber(s) from getting oiled. That setup can get quite messy though as you'd need to link all four runners and then fit a PCV valve to that link. I ALMOST went this way, drilling into the underside of the manifold and having it all underneath but there clearance issues, not to mention alot of work so I went catch can and intended to feed the fumes back into air-box.

Or you could do what they have done in the 1ks. just vent to atmosphere.

The thou uses a bent pipe down to the bottom of the engine bay. You could hook up the crank case breather to this as well.

Chrome up the pipe and joiners and its all bling.

Then again thats not very enviro friendly is it....

My twin-DCOE manifold doesn't fit a PCV valve. in that case you can do what the racers do: Connect both breathers to an oil-vapor separator.

They don't connect to ports.

The valve cover breather vents to the air cleaner in a stock configuration.
The block breather vents to the PCV valve.
Or for twin-carb factory engine, they are vice-versa.
