Im confused reading their new rules again.
Can anyone chip in to the layman here?

so what are my restrictions with or without boost?
I thought that anything is allowable now as I cant
see any calculations anymore just Engineer approval.

Jason wont he budge and pretend its an auto model?

Ok, in that case, don't go a big arse top mount exhaust manifold, stick to standard intake manifold and you will have to run standard computer till after engineering too.

In simple terms, yes you can and it depends on what "working" you're talking about. Internally, they are never going to get you to pull the engine apart to see what internal mods you have. There's not a lot of things you can do to a non turbo that will attract the attention of the engineer.

The new rules are easier in one area...
eg. a10 to a12 dont require a e-cert? As it supposedly states that power or capacity? must not increase over 20% from original motor. Old one state no more than 15%
You guys with 1200 are lucky us 1000 people...
B10 - 650kg
1625cc turbo
1950cc NA
KB10 675kg
1687cc turbo
2025cc NA

Your starting to scare me now Tommo...cos I don't reckon I'm gonna get my car finished in the 6 months Sanjay has alloted....hopfully this weight deal doesn't impact commercial vehicles (utes)!

Anyway keep us posted with any developments.

Before I got the conversion done on my ute I rang the ACT rego place & they said that the heaviest vehicle in the rnag was the wagon at 720kg. So 720x2.5 = 1800cc so it's a tight squeeze.

no they did pass with flying colors before 1st july. this is changing and enforcing tighter restirctions on engine changes.

its changing the goal posts which is allowable.

there are less old car lovers like us and more skyline/commodore/falcons blah blah blah new car modders out there. this stops a lot of their conversions too.

i see the point of new cars and emmissions, but putting a newer engine into a pre 1980 car should be no dramas. in most cases can only be an improvement.
