My ute does the same. I think this is normal. One click out, headlights come on and parkers, flick the hi beam stick and the headlights will go out and the parkers will stay on, flick the hi beam stick back and pull the headlight knob out to 2nd click, headlights and park lights will be on, flick the stick and you'll have high beams and parkers on. I also thought it was queer when I finally figured out how it all worked. I might be re-wiring the whole ute and fitting Speco gauges, so won't pose a problem.

Both my 120s had this issue. fuse blocks behind holders had blown marks on them and circuits solder together. Got my elec at work to re wire and re fuse them with no issues. Then parks came on separate to headlights as they should (well at least how I thought they should)

Check behind yours could be similar problem
