It does not matter when upgrading, as you can use old distributor in new engine and vice-versa with simple modification.

* Old A12 dizzy differs from new A12 dizzy
* New A12 dizzy and A14/A15 dizzy are the same
Only the advance curves will differ, but only slightly. Neither are performance curves so you may wish to recurve it anyways.

For identification, post photos of what you have.

From my understanding they're exactly the same.
Even if they are slightly different it will work without a problem. I just changed from A12 to A14 and swapped my dizzy over to the new engine without a drama.

So is the same distributor used for the A15 as the A12 ?

Hey quick newbie questions:

My ute has an A15 engine that was swapped before I bought it. How do I tell if they changed the distributor to suit the A15 or kept the stock one?

Does it matter when upgrading to a elec. dizzy?
