ahh... does it sound like I have the correct strip at least?
My only experience with this type of seal was years ago on my Gemini, and it went on last to lock down and spread the seal... I was thinking this was similar.
I can work around this but just need to know if this is the correct strip.
Cheers
Ed

i was alway under the impression that you had to install the chrome strip when getting the windscreen put in, otherwise it won't go in properly. But don't quote me on that

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anybody can offer any advice about how to install the chrome lock strip on teh new windscreen seal.
I have bought a generic type locking strip from Scotts Old Rubber, the one listed for 1200.
I installed the screen using an EBAY rubber from Phils Rotaries, which was fine.
now the channel which I would expect to lay the chrome strip in seems to be too narrow and has a flap of rubber over the top?
first question is Do i have the correct locking strip? its about 1cm wide at the base and basically a semi circle hump with flanged ends...
2) if this is the correct strip, do I cut the flap of rubber off to install?
Cheers
Ed
