Dolly's are great cars..

My old boss had one in his collection (and a sweet collection it was too, included genuine XU-1, MK2 BDA escort, Group A pulsar (sunny) GTiR, Group A Mazda BF GTR and various other rally weaponry, great way to start your apprenticeship!)

In the UK they had a nice version called the toledo coupe
The slant sohc 4 16v was never further developed, then it
was nabbed by saab and they put a huge heavy 16v TC head.

That's what it was, couldn't remember which car name it was. The one with one tail light yeah?

At least they were out there having a go though

hEscort driver should be bowling or waiting for meals on wheels
The Honda driver should be wrecking Hondas at a Jp yard

Does the Triumph dolomite rely on a worked 2ltr SOHC 16v?
or use some other donk?

Nice footage, you nsw boys seem to have a great u2l class! Chooie was doing well there too, passed under brakes then got away with the couple of extra ponies. One day I'd love to do a bit of door to door racing, it really is a massive difference from club sprints. Good work on keeping the datsun racing alive!

Thanks boys,
The yellow Escort is a worry - an older bloke who rates himself ( does go okay obviously) but would have taken the front off my car if I didn't lock brakes. No situational awareness I think! He does drive that erratically and tends to fall off here and there. That damn Honda was a drama!!! Would not look in mirrors and shut doors when I was right there! Wanted to tap ....... But the Sunny is far too valuable to be dented by a plastic rattle! Sunny gets away okay but there are no synchs left in the box so the shifts were painful and slow - box is apart and being rebuilt at the moment. As for Chooie ......... Too much hp for me but the day will come ....
Cheers

Nice move by chooie, that yellow escort has some goid gearing to get you off the line but it looks very twitchy, or was he just over driving it. Thought you were going to punt him and the Honda off couple times with a nice 3/4 love tap just to show them you were there lol

No mate - Race 1 was a wet track with a drying line and there are times when the VVL assists with oversteer! Car is actually quite neutral but my brain still drives the 1200.
Thanks for the comments guys, vibration issue will be solved next round for better footage I hope !!
Cheers.

I noticed a lot of correction of the steering through the corners - it looks like the car is prone to a bit of understeer - is that what it was feeling like in the car?
