Thais is to inform everyone that my red coupe is sold as of today (Friday). Its not my place to say who bought it, but he is a member of this 1200 club. I hope he will be happy with
it and that he will now be a more frequent poster now that he has a Datsun 1200!

Ok, I get your point and I hate to have to reply as I hate little bitching sessions as much as the next man.
Firstly let me point out that in my message I clearly stated that everyone has their own opinion, and we SHOULD respect that.
Secondly, in Aussie the 120Y was a popular car with many still around today, but when compared to a Monaro or GT they lack severly in the looks department, you ask someone here
about the 'ol Datto 120Y and you will probably get laughed at. That is my opinion please respect that, as I respect yours.
I also agree with the "not giving a shit" policy. Mate, I got bagged out something chronic in my 1200 Coupe when all my mates and people at college saw it.
Is that a 120Y?
No, its a 1200.
Well its still a Datto what a piece of shit!
I got my fair share, belive me. So I know what it is like to drive something you worship (and spent time and money on) and to have someone dish out the shit on it.
Whats this Coupe 1200, Sedan 1200 shit. You give me ANY 1200 and I would love it just the same as any other 1200.
This club doesn't need this sort of bickering. So lets both get over it. We have our own opinions and they need to be respected.
Hey, over here there is this FORD/HOLDEN battle. Im a Ford man but I know a good Holden when I see one. Im not some one-eyed red neck.

No hard feelings I hope,

Simon

I think the 120Y 'joke' thing may be only an Australian thing. I guess it all started when the 110 and 510 were replaced with the 210 and 610.

The 120Y can't be killed though! There are lots of them around and wrecking yards have many very good examples, mostly due to minor frontal damage, thus
insurance write-offs.

If I couldn't get a 1200 I'd have a 120Y probably, Just looking at Will's beast at http://www.datsunworld.com makes me want one. And all sorts are available in
Australia:
2 Door Sedan,2 door coupe,4 door Sedan,5 door Wagon. Maybe it was a case of 120Y overdose back in the mid seventies.

Whatever it is, I agree you gotta love all Datsuns...Try hating Skodas or something if you have to hate something!

Chris.

I have a 1973 1200 coupe that I ve been thinking putting up for sale. Before you start jumping up and down with joy, you should know it it is all B-210 suspension, a-14 engine , brakes and
tranny. It has a beautiful 3 coat red paint job with 2 coats of clear. It has all new rubber seals (windshield, rear window door and trunk weatherstripping, etc.) It runs and looks great,
has 13" US mags, 155 80r 13" front tires and 205 60r 13 rear tires. The stock upholstery , seats are all there, even the headliner is refurbished with vinyl spray. I just got another bone
stock fixer upper 1200 coupe that is all stock and I want to restore it. I dont have room for 2 coupes in my garage, so the red one is going to have to go.You won't find a spec of rust on
it. I want $1,000 US for it but the price is negotiable. I live in Orange County, CA. If interested, email me at SJamesson@aol.com

Greeting all,
I used to be into 510's,but now I grown sick and tired of them.I think 1200 are cooler because they are smaller and sportyer looking.Coup or sedan I like them both.I would be
happy to own either one.Never the less it a great car through out.I wish had a 1200!
P.s. Anyone want to buy a 510? email me at Datsun51072000@yahoo.com.

I do not like to get in silly fights because once fired, they get dificult to stop, but this guy who is saying that 120 y are not cool beeter shut up,you better respect others point of view
and accept others tastes or else we all are some kind off shit. You say also that sedans look grandmarish cars,I know a lot of people who think all 1200 look girly ,and I do not give a
shit about what idiots think. You are entitled to your own tastes, but if you are going to go around creating bad feelings and discord you are going to create yourself formidable enemies.
This is suposed to be a 1200 club,or do youi plan to create your own COUPE 1200,and a SEDAN1200, and a PICK UP 1200 etc.
Wake up!

Hello 1200 freaks,

OK, go to the following:

Once there, scroll down past the first 10 opening pictures to the alphabetized listing section and select 'BMW to Dodge'...once there, scroll down until you find the Datsun
section and click on Blue Meanie. You can also check out my other Datsun EVs while you're there

See Ya.....John Wayland

Hello 1200 freaks,
I'm still rolling on the floor over "30 years of "Butt Funk'! Yeah, the mention of factory seats is pretty much mute after 30 years. For my electric soundoff car Blue Meanie, I was lucky and
found a wrecked Soob wagon with just 1500 miles on the clock that had 'as new' grey cloth seats that I scooped up in a hurry. These seats are shaped similar to the factory 1200 seats, but
are far more supportive and look vaguely Recaro-like. I had the Soob rear seat cover fitted to the 1200 rear seat frame. With cutom door panels covered in grey cloth with violet vinyl
insert, matching rear quarter panel covers, and salt & peper style grey carpet that also covers the kick panels, the Soob seats blend in nicely, and are still in mint condition today. A trio
of MB Quart separates are also mounted in each door, and they have custom painted grills that blend in well with the interior scheme.
For those who may not have seen Blue Meanie, it can be checked out at:

<http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/036.html>

I guess I should add some pictures of the interior to this page....

See Ya.......John Wayland
