Yes, I've got twin 40mm weber side draughts and "extractors" (whatever the technical term is).

I have to use the original block and head. They can be modified by removal of metal but not addition. Internals are free thus the possible crankshaft change.

J13 and there is a E1. However I saw a E1 at a wreckers
a year ago and told someone at crankshaft rebuilders
then as he had a friend with rallye 1000 a10 supposedly
and was looking for a stroker crank.
It surprised me to see such an engine and its listed here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_E_engine

with 71mm stroke and 76mm bores youd get 1288cc !!!!
enough to frighten many cars in that light body.

Are you allowed to change carburetion and exhaust?

I am allowed to use an A12 crank, not block. But being five bearing it's out really.

I left the word "crankshaft" out last time sorry.

I was under impression you cant use an A12?

Also not allowed steering rack?

Motor is A10 bored .5mm. Stroking is legal but A12 being 5 bearing is not really sensible. Now where do I find a J13 to get a crank?

This steering quickener concept has me thinking, I now have several 3 and 4 speed gearboxes doing nothing (including a 56 option 1 4 speed). I could put one of those in the steering column, just cut down the bellhousing etc, Then I can change ratios to suit conditions and the strength in my arms. I think the steering box would would need to be at the input end.

I wouldn't have a clutch or permanently mounted gear lever, changing ratio on the move would be just silly!

Some bloke was saying long ago that a J13
crank is a possible upgrade for stroking.

It's about 3.5 turns lock to lock. 2 to 2.5 would be better so I can react quicker on loose surfaces.

1000's are a gokart
Can't understand needing the steering quicker

Maybe start playing with ratios in the box (having them made) or custom arms
But don't go introducing bump steer and other issues that make the car unpredictable
