It depends where they are going. On something like leaf springs, or control arm bushes (and sway bar D bushes) they are very good (any quality urethane one will be good). Because in those locations they act more like a hinge than a bush. On things like the caster bar bushes, they need a lot more compllance (in other words they actually need a bit of 'give') because they are tilting and getting angularity, not just rotating like a hinge.

You can 'cheat' a little on the caster bars - get a set of urethane and a set of rubber, but fit urethane front halves (which are the halves that wear out) and rubber on the rear halves. That'll still give you some compliance, but last well and be nice a firm esp under brakes.

I picked that trick up from running minis - where believe it or not, the caster bars are 'soft' enough that urethane front and rear on them can actually chew through the bar (they are getting on a bit too, and corrosion certainly is an additional factor) - but the 'half and half' works well.

If your after a brand new Datsun just use new rubber, if you want a stiff set up use nolathane.

Best answer IMO is bit of both. I used noltec bushes over all the car, just be carefully to use grease supplied as manufacturer intended. Or it will sound like the one and all within 6 months!
