That looks like an A14 block:
* cast H72

Maybe someone restamped it. Measure it:
A12/A13/A12A Deck Height: 189.1mm
A14/A15 Deck Height: 204.1mm

That head is the best in my view with the later bolt pattern easier to weld 90 degree buttweld bends on a steel flange.
Earlier ones are a headache to undo and do up bolts

The DON.

Mike's on the money, late A12. The one you need is an A12A, but otherwise you could just bore the rods at work yeah?

I picked this up with a bunch of 1000 parts on the weekend. WTF is it? Yes it's an A12, but the round port head bolt spacing is more like an A14 and there are no external water jackets. Also, the engine number ends with an A. Example, A12 ######E.

Obviousle nothing special, but what I want to know is, are the conrods the later type that I need to convert anearly A12 into an A14 using the A14 crank?
