Start the engineering process now, before it's too late. Go the CA!

From my understanding NSW wants to adopt its own version on VSB14 which is the most recent set of guidelines that the ACT, NT, TAS & WA have adopted and are operating under in regards to modifying light vehicles.

NSW wants to introduce VSI59 which will be their version of VSB14. As it stands the changes have not yet been put in place and there is an organised group called the Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (ACMC) that are seeking to help play a role in negotiating the new changes at the moment. In fact there is a rally at Eastern Creek on the 26th Feb to draw attention to the large number of people it will affect.

This is what I've understood from reading other sites and also this months Street Machine.

I got my ute engineered in Dec last year under VSB14 and it was fine, CA18, different ECU and all the other normal conversion stuff.

Here is the site for the ACMC, www.confederationofmotorclubs.org.au

If your not talking to rta or I e of thier listed engineers it's a waste of time. Under national laws still ok but each state can add extra criteria.

Consult an engineer and make a call from there. Personally ca Im not a huge fan but for the $$$ it's good power into a 1200

i just spoke to a nsw rta engineer today and they said that nothing has changed as of yet and isnt due to for a while. they said there are rumours going around but at this point arent true. im doing an sr20de into a 1200 coop and i got the go ahead. cant see why a ca18det into a 1200 ute being a light commercial would be a problem.

I know for 100% that you can't do it in a sedan any more at all in nsw but a ute you might be able to as its heavier once you fill the back up to its load rating limit..

My engineer said the biggest you can go in a sedan is 1.6 turbo or something like that..
