iirc h89 have the biggest stock valve. 32/36 is a good bang for buck carb. you don't have to switch to sideys. use stock intake manifold gasket for A15.

Found a few h89 heads at local wrecking yard (pick a part).Can these heads be ported to gx specs? If so which intake manifold gasket do I use.Do they have the largest valves? Can I use the stock intake with down draft 32/36 weber or will I have to swicth to side draft? Are there any advantages of running points distributer with pertronix instead of original electronic dist. with black box? Any input well appreciated.

Good to know.
Plus the E15et pistons are of a very beefy construction. Nice thich crowns and skirts. No holes in the oil control ring grooves. A really strong looking piston. Tough as nails.

I had a H75 that was shaven all the way and did have ga16 slugs (almost the same as the e15et ones) and ran very well, very good economy and torque. That engine is still in a vanette and with all the heat it gets under the seat the owner we see often at markets says it goes like a tractor without a hitch for 8 years now.
The old van launches like a bull which is surprising considering the weight, induction and antiquated mainly blocked pollution gear.
Its not uncommon to do this mod Bart, Im sure youll have success as the e15et pistons have similar rings as the A series eg 2mm, 2mm and 4mm

Is that do-able D?
I have an H75 head that already has 40 thou off it. I've been contemplating taking it all the way down, till it's closed chambered. I'd run it on an A14, with E15et pistons. They have 10X the bowl volume of standard pistons. So I'd run zreo deck, and cram boost down it's neck.

So Aside from too high a CR, can the H72 survive that much taken off it?

ive got h75s /h89s/gx heads,some ported, some std (gx's are ported already) if anyone's interested, also got heaps or other engine parts,blocks/cranks/t/covers/sump etc.
