Just my .2 cents... "If" the cost of a billet 54mm CA crank with mitsu GSR rods in a Ca18det is made, it would make 1169cc with easily available 5 speeds, aftermarket parts and ecu combos/piggyback etc. Toyota solid lifters fit straight in and rod stroke ratio would be allowing it to spin 10,000 rpm in equivalent piston speeds as L16 at 7300rpm possible 200kws at rears. If needed engineering rules are passed with big margins as its 300cc less cap. Considering the economy of my old 12psi 180sx back in the early 90s an 1169cc CA would spend 15% of the rotary to and from events :) something different.

well mik since you started this thread may aswell attempt to make it interesting

below is the subject, that i want to build into a track car one day in the hopefully not too distant future

what would you guys do with it if it was yours?

it needs to have a safety cage, be resonably fast (say faster than the ute) and reliable.
i want to use it for track days but will build it to fit into a race class so that i can go racing
one day if ever i feel the urge

I tried convincing him a nice l20 mega squirt turbo like marks old set up, that would be nice in a 1200.

Geez Mik. Just because Ange said improved production it doesn't nessicarily mean A series. Personally I think a CR14DET would be mental.

im inspired mik, dont worry about that.
but as you would know very well.... priorities change in life!

ill own/build that dedicated track car one day, but for now i'll just
keep having fun in the trusty old ute whenever i get the chance....

but since you mentioned it, i'd probably be building it as improved production
rather than sports sedan, so another rotor is unlikely
