If you think it feels unsafe might be worth saving up for a new 7/8" master cylinder. Will move more brake fluid per 'stroke' of the pedal with less effort, and is a common size used when engine conversions come into the picture if you are thinking about going that way in the future.

Looks mint ,I mine wouldn't lock up unless I jumped on the pedal at speed ,but at lowish speed it shouldnt lock up ,it should just stop Haha
I'm running 180b brakes and they are a huge improvement over disks but still I only put them in for the coilovers not the extra braking power
Love your ute though ,good to see its getting some love!

Thanks for the replies, it has disc front end set up. I need to get used to the 'pedal feel'!
I havn't been over 30km/h yet so that could explain not locking up, just done a few hard stops to try and bed the new rear drums in

Its called pedal feel ;)
New cars with brake boosters dont have it.
When I first got into my ute it scared the bejeebuz out of me, now that I am used to it I wouldnt have it any other way,

Put it this way, after I've been driving the Datsun I just about go through the wind screen when I get back in the Lancer. It's normal for them to feel quite a bit harder, they should still lock and do everything else they're supposed to do if you push hard enough.
