So 45psi would be the base stock psi for factory unit, this would obviously increase as the revs n turbo kicks in or dose it always stay at a constant 45psi?

Be aware that if you change the fuel pressure, you will be changing the tune! Also, by going to a larger pump, the old fuel pressure regulator might not be able to pass enough fuel. This would cause an increase in fuel pressure, especially at idle and low to medium load.

Is it an adjustable pressure reg? If it is, dont adjust it without checking the fuel mixtures.
Fuel pressures can be anything from 38psi to 75psi. It depends on where the tuner has set it. If its a non ajustable factory unit, its probably about 45psi(3 bar).
If you can smell fuel, it must be very rich or have a leak.

I would look for leaks, then check mixtures with a wideband sensor or multi gas analyser.

stock reg, stock injectors, just upgraded fuel supply on stock boost.

Depends on setup as well, you may be getting too much pressure to the rail! May have a failed reg, cheak all lines and make sure they are hi pressure lines! Have you fitted a reg? Or is it the standed one? What injectors?

also i have 1/2 inch fuel lines under the car so there should be pleanty there, if it did create a slow down it might be for the better..

Yes, no probs there. As long as it doesnt create too much of a restriction.

Anywhere between the outlet of the high pressure pump and the pressure reg inlet is fine.
I personally have it between the rail outlet and the reg.

i want to install a fuel press gauge in the engine bay, just so i know whats going on, basicly after i installed the surge and walbro pump its just been running rich and smells like fuel in the cabin..

where would be the best place for this?
1. fuel line going into fuel rail
2. fuel line return

im pretty sure its no:1
