So it doesn't matter what they were for (solar etc) they start, charge off alt and hold charge. With out blowing up lol.

Should have figured farms would use them too, solar dams fences etc.

Pm some prices etc for the 36ah - you know I'm thighs and then there's the $$$$ Ivan

Got heaps of those batteries here Mik. Put a 40ah in our spare pulsar about 4 years ago, can leave it for months and still goes.Put a 36ah in my ute (a14) 5 years ago and still goes well.
Can start the little tractor with a 36ah (45HP Leyland) without any problems.
Have got a good s/h 36ah here if you want it or can get you a big new 80ah for about $150 if you wanted one.

Well I'm hitting my head against a few brick walls. The smaller motor bike ones are about 200-375cca in the under $100 bracket. Prob not enough to crank my high comp lpg pig.

Need approx 450 min. But agm aren't all measured in cca and that's the prob im facing- in ah how Do i work out eh at would work?

Some golf buggy ones in the 26-33ah range are 400-450cca and others not cca rated.

Came accross a 42ah on eBay for $50 but she says no cca rating as not a car batter it's a solar one.
Specs where

Nominal Capacity (10 Hour rate) at 1.80V:  42Ah

 20 hour rate (2.33A):                      46.6Ah

For the 12v 42ah battery.
Do they make a difference in agm batteries.

2nd hand guy says the 26-33ah he has are about 450cca from golf buggies.

The motor bike ones only Harley ones seem to go to 430 cca or so but $150.

I'm getting lost. Can't afford $200 for a 600cca but don't want to throw $80 away on a 375cca that won't do, or $50 on a battery thats either 2nd hand or they say isn't a car battery.

Help?

I have charged the battery once [6 months ago] since I ran the car at the last Dat Nats last year. I started the car 2 weekends ago to move it, no problems. From memory the Battery tech at Absorbed advised i should put the battery on charge every 3 months or so, just to keep it topped up though.

I recommend giving the supplier a call to determine which battery would be best for your application. The GT12-18HR just runs the ignition on my application, so you may need the larger versions available to suit running headlights and other accessories and the like.

I went with an AGM battery from Absorbed Power Batteries, for my racecar, they are cheap and reliable From memory the battery was less than $85. I went with one of their GT12-18HR [HR = High rate]. It starts a high comp A series with ease. The battery is mounted in the cabin area. They are a QLD supplier, but distribute through Supercharge batteries n NSW, [maybe the same in VIC]

Agm batteries

Well looking into getting a new or second hand sealed battery for boot install.

I'm liking these agm batteries as D showed me and they are priced well. Also no liquid to spill if they split.

I'm trying to work out cca ratings but they mainly talk about ah (amp hours) so I found some by brand fullriver which 4x4 guys like and there are two small ones 26ah and 33ah which are meant for golf buggies and motorbike/ disabled wheel chairs. They have approx 440cca equivalent- next smallest is 375cca oddesy like I had but doesn't hold charge any more.

Any advice or information? Rather get one that lasts as being in boot will be insulated from elements more than engine bay- also allowing me to re route lpg stuff long term
