ok guys..........
turns out its a 240z with matching engine number. wooooo hoooooo.
should be coming home with me for a great price. alot cheaper than i expected.
needs a bit of work, but its fairly rust free, just has a home paint job which is starting to go south.
ive had some offers for my bits,
ill compile a list of stuff and post it here before i stick it on ebay for a 3 day auction..
im gonna need the cash asap but i aint letting my stuff go for a song.
stand by for a list.

It doesn't matter which car you spend money on. Just as long as its the car you want. No point spending buckets of cash on a car you're not in love with.

240 is the collectors but 260z is the better buy in my opinion- still affordable but more refined than the 240 and not as ugly as the 280- it still had steel bumpers in most cases.

Also if not keeping engine standard- then the slightly higher stock weight allows more powerful options.

Unless the car 240z or which ever has got matching numbers to standard build plates, it will never be a true collectors car so might as well go crazy

hey mate,
just my opinion,
if goin the Z route, my advise would be to go for a 240z rather than 260z.260z is a good car but the 240z started the model and hence they are more fetched after by enthusiasts.also alot more rarer.they would be more valuable than the 260z and retain/hold their value more.
from seeing ur collection of rare parts,im assuming you will be doing the same for the Z.once again in my opinion, if you will be goin to spend alot of money on a z, get a 240z.
either way best of luck with whatever Z you choose mate.
