When i had mine converted the ACT rego people said that the heaviest variant in the 1200 range was the wagon at 720 kg.

oh.... and if you're in Vic then you can only do 2.5 times the original kerbside weight for a turbo and 3 times the original weight for non turbo.

given that the kerbside was 700 or 710 kilos then a CA18DE or SR20DE (both non turbo) would be all you could go to

do your research .... get this sorted before you go making plans (a non turbo is also cheaper :)

That's only through our guy in Vic mic, others charge more and for revisits. Nsw costs more too usually

engineering is $800, if you do the entire list above properly (research first) it shouldn't cost any more than that

Then factor in engineering and a possible roadworthy certificate to make it legit.

The $1000 engine would be an unknown 2nd hand unit- rebuilding or a rebuilt one will add to that for sure.

Note - a lot of these prices would be roughly what i spent, most items you could easily spend 4 times as much on depending on if you wanted new or better looking etc
