i agree.. it depends what class you want to run in, they normally have wheel size limits and control tyre

i think 205/50 on 15x6 or 7 is a good size that isnt too hard to make fit with flares or guard mods on a 1200
it gives you plenty of options for brakes and tyres aswell.

if you want to go wider you probably dont want to do it with 15's becuase wider also means a lot higher in profile aswell..
going wider with a decent rolling diameter may be possible on 13's but then you have less choice for brakes

its all a balance between what you want and what the rules allow you to do

Now I am thinking again 13" rims are going to limit my brake choice some what so I am going to have to re think my rim choice.

Arr ok. I thought 14 or 15 would be better for racing. No worries. It has 13 inch rebels on it at the moment but every wheel has a slight wobble. So maybe I should just spend the money on getting them re rolled instead because they are a nice looking rim and rather light. Thanx guys

I have 15x7 +20 rims (which I bought new)because they were light

MY 2cents is that what you should do is pick a class you want to race in then read the rules

I decided Improved Production sounded like what I wanted and rules state 15x7 is the max for the class I want to run (needs guard mods)

The next step is to look at the price of the tyre you want to run 195 50 15 are cheap even if you go to R spec tyres they are not to bad

Finial weight, there is quite a big difference in wheel weights, my change saved me 2kg per corner so a set of hand scales helps if you at the wreckers

13 x 6 or 7 imho. Tyres cheap but depends your power output. A stockish a series would be ok with 185 60 13.

as wide as possible!! If your doing hill climbing at collingrove, the more rubber on the ground the better. it is often wet up there and traction is a problem. I have 195 50 15 on the 1200 and thats pretty useless. the 1000 im building has flares and 13 X8 rims to get as much tread down as possible.
Hope that helps a bit.
Cheers.
Adam.

Hey guys. I have done a search and have not come up with a definitive answer.
What. Would be the. Best. Diameter width and offset for a Datsun 1200 coupe. I don't mind stretching the yards to make them fit if I have to. Sorry if this has been covered before
