I just use a toyota camry, mazda 929 or mitsubishi alternator with inbuilt regulator, fan and easy to replace in the future, not to mention looks much better, neater engine bay and safer on fingers.

I replaced the one on the wagon recently as it had stopped working
Brushes worn out
Just threw on another off a spare motor in the shed
Works a treat
Should outlast the car (which won't be long)

How are remans in your country?

There are many reports here in USA about bad alternators right out of the box.

If your original Datsun alternator still has good bearings, just fit new brushes to them ($5 to $10 for brushes) rather than buy a reman.

You can still buy new 1200 alternators. From 1982 in Japan 1200s used an internally regulated unit, which they also used on other Nissan vehicles here in USA. It is a bolt-on replacment for 1200s. See LR135.

We can get inexpensive "remanufactured" alternators here in USA, as cheap as $35. Supposedly have new bearings, brushes and diode assemblies in them.

Unfortunately they are always going bad. Whereas many stock Datsun units 30 to 35 years old are still going strong!

Looks at that poor solder -- like it's not even there (bottom right lead). But worked good for a couple of years.

Two of the three diodes leads came loose. The brush leads looked like they were soldered by a child. I am suprised it worked so long. I bought it used at the wreckers for $12.50, obviously too much.

Next time I'll get genuine Datsun/Nissan part, though it costs a bit more.
