No numb bum, 1 very tender elbow and an uncomfortable arm rest...Was running at the time, fresh A14 with mild cam, but put on a stock reco A12 carbie for the economy. Was hauling a cbr600 and about 5 suitcases and a passenger at the time. It wouldnt rev over 4200rpm at the time due to the carb i think... As for 3.5 lsd diff, I finally got my rebuilt A14 (o-ring'd h-beam'd efi S/c etc) back. Should have enough torque to pull it along comfortably. Just need to pull my finger out ( i'm very lazy) and get a suitable computer and custom manifold fabricated... Everything else is done. I am so lazy, D out of the goodness of his heart has donated an Auto and a set of 14"s with tyres, to make my life even more cosy and lazier (bless you)... Well my Smurf has been around the world a few times and around Aust a few more. I wish I could get the frequent flyer point that he would have notched up.

bigger diameter tyres help on long trips but I prefer small diameter for everyday street driving more torque by far.

Nick wheres Papa Smurf? :)

My A12GX runs 110Km/h at 3500rpm and at 3800rpm it sits precisely on 120km/h

10 thou over, flat tops, bigger valves, ported and polished (only a little bit), shaved h89 head, Mild cam (wade 240) and a single 45dcoe weber.

Goes well and very responsive. Havent done a comp test as yet and could probably go with a good dyno tune but its pretty close atm, not going to bother as im going bigger a series with twins, then i will dyno that motor rather than spending the money on this one...

Keep in mind, doesnt seem like much but it sure is expensive! haha

sounds nice wandering if acceleration would be affected greatly?

also stock1200ute1 if you dont mind me asking what modifications did you make to the a12 to give it more torque (was thier head porting involved) did you change the camshaft? do you know which one it is?

i would love bit more torque from the a12

Thanks!

That sounds like a good setup Nickmitty, you planning on racing it or something? OR just better crusing?

Shortly I will be aiming for 110 km/h at 3000 rpm or just under, with my new 3.5 H165 lsd and 5spd.

thanks guys yer its 3.9 borgwarner 68 rear end i reckon it used to be around 3500 at 100km/h with the 13 inch tyres

dd seems that it wont cause much harm sittting that high rpm its just sound like the engines screaming of its head LOL.

with the 12 inch it spins the wheels every corner if you kick the clutch a bit which is fun and take of is abit better imo hehe.

Thanks seems the old a12 can take it :)
