Don't know what to tell you. I was told to stay away from the fwd version of the KA motor. Less HP. I was not aware of the tranny issues.

ok looking at the engine it has the wrong type of sump and id have to get one in from the u.s plus its not as good as the ka24de. my car will be able to fit the fwd ka24de as it came with a 4cyl and 6cyl so theres pleanty of room and the sump is right to suit my crossmember. ive just been to the local u pull it and found that the d21 nivara gearbox doesnt fit onto a fwd ka24de. so can anybody tell me what gearbox will fit the fwd ka24de and what car do i get it from

It is not restrictive, but it is also not tuned length. The difference is 6 hp

Yea it was something like that. I think that inlet manifold might be a bit restrictive . Oil think it was a d21 nivara

So which Aussie vehicle had the rwd KA? What year Navara D21?

Alternator is no problem as long as the engine has the alternator brackets. Just use another Nissan alternator.

Distributor is unique.

Get the ECU and wiring harness - the stock ECU is very very good. We don't do Nistune here.

Be careful about turboing. Go to KA-T.org and start reading. Apparently the SR20DET or CA18DET can make more power for less money.

The D21 truck engine USA looks like this:
