I have my doubts about that, but no one has corrected him or our wiki article ... so that's all I know about it. He might have been talking about creating a semi-stumpy gearbox.

If you have an SR20-rwd engine and KA-rwd gearbox, what do you find? Does it bolt up to the engine?

You mean anyone else other than the one guy who said it? I asked him to clarify and he said yes, it's a bit shorter.

Quote:
if you swap in a sr20 with a ka24 gearbox, only changing the ka bell housing to the sr bell housing, it shortens the gearbox and slots it back in the original slot
He meant the Front Case (front half of transmission), since neither gearbox has a traditional bell housing.

I got a SR20 bellhousing in Ipswich, QLD 4305. You can have it if your willing to ship it down your way.

SR-rwd and KA-rwd bell patterns are the same. The difference is the offset, the SR is a bit shallower. At least so they say.
