May look like it will foul ... but if it doesn't, then no worries. What does MadDat say, does it work with stock LCAs?

Yeah think i looked at that and pretty sure wouldnt be able to get the nut on the thread and it was going to be hitting the strut base. Will also add i was using the 1200 struts with S13 setup and i ran the late 120y steering arm which allows you to bolt the mentioned ball joints in.

You could also move the mounting hole in the lca further in then mount the sway bar link on the other side of the sway bar (mount it inside the sway bar, rather than the outside)

No i used the one on the right to move the things ever so slightly out and it gave more clearance from strut to sway bar link. But as i said you really need adjustable LCA's cause the only reason this works ever so slightly as it allows the LCA to go up and out a touch more. At the end of the day (the sun goes down)the LCA cant go out as it is bolted to the crossmember isn't it. So you can then consider elongating the hole/s that it bolts to on the crossmember but be sure to brace that as to stop it sliding side to side. Realistically there is no quick fix but to buy or get made Adjustable LCA's they will give more options
P.S we tried it with late ute ones originally and thats where the problems were discovered then we went to Sunny ones

Request a 1979 1200 ute ball joint for the short type. It fits on the H74 LCA (same LCA is used by B120, 120Y and B310).

But this is perhaps why there is no room for the swaybar link. The H50 unit moves the bottom of the strut out.

so to buy the ball joints on the left (shorter offset) what should i request at the parts shop?

i see the original 1200 are short but the bolt spacing width is also narrower and the diameter of the bolts is smaller

[edit] i just re-read... i see which ones i need to order now... thanks DD

later 1200 LCAs (after 1975) can take either ball joint.

H74 vs H50

The H50 type is used by Sunny-large & Stanza. Late 1200, Late B210 and Sunny-small uses the H74 type. H50 alone will increase track and reduce camber. It also changes the bump steer slightly.

It is usually better to gain negative camber by moving the strut top inboard because it doesn't change bumpsteer, and gives more room for wide tires.

No they havent moved the hole in the LCA they run and sell the adjustable LCA's which pushes the hole out when you wind them out as well as the strut to also give you camber.
