I thought FL was dogleg, which is desirable in racing as its not a weaker overdrive top gear and the more useful changes are up/down

Yes, they are different. But how I do not know. I have seen 60A five-speeds marked 'FA' and 'FL'. Maybe just a later unit. I doubt if one is more desirable than the other. The MG guys says to use one of them, but I think they do not know the difference either.

Hi guys. If anyone knows, are there any differences between a datsun 210 (b310) 5 speed tranny marked FA... and another one off the same model but marked FL...? I read something about the FL marked ones being more "desirables". I haven't been able to find any info about this on the web so, if any of you know about this, please, enlighten me!
