Sure, it could still be good. The antique 1200 alternators used lasted 150,000 miles before the bearings started making noise.

By the way, if you end of replacing it later, you can swap the guts into the chromed case (if you buy an exact replacement).

Hi guys i have a question,my Ca18det came out off a jap import and has 60 or 90 thousand stamped on the cam gear cover. My question is would the alternator still be in good condition with those km's.Woulds it be worth getting it redone before i get it polished.

I did at Pigdog said, took a couple of hours to strip, clean sandblast, reclean and assemble with new bearings. Worth the effort plus I know its now in good condition and ready to spin at crazy RPM...LOL. Send me yours and I do it for ya if you want or I might even have a spare I can clean up, you just might be waiting a little while at time is a tad hard to come buy at the moment...LOL

dont buy it through nissan is will cost twice as much. Just go down to your local auto shop that sells electrical parts/starter motors and what not.

It isn't that hard to pull the front and rear covers off and bead blast them, then it will look like new and save you several hundreds of dollars
