This can occur with EI or with a points distributor.

There are two feed wires in the harness, a START wire and a IGN/RUN wire. You must connect both of them to the coil, or it won't start unless you jiggle the key.

did you remove the ballast resistor?

i recently had this issue on a std ignition.

thanks to the tech wiki I worked out my ballast resistor was faulty.

you shouldn't need a ballast anyway if you run electronic ign.

your dizzy is wired to ACC. ACC is off when you START. find the ON key instead.

Hi all, I recently converted to electronic dizzy from the e15 Nissan, problem is when I turn the key (when started runs) it will not fire up, the moment I leave the key to jump back to the on position then it fires, basically seems like it's not giving power to the coil when the starter is running. am I missing something? I have fitted a new ignition now and still the same problem.
