Still getting the Ute through road worthy

Getting door from Benny, gathering parts for this just in case

Leaning towards restoration rather than lethal weapon

I thought that must have been your bid that went in for the Beechworth sedan in the last minute of the auction.

Oh well I'm sure the parts you need will crop up at some point.

Missed bidding on the one in Beechworth - got distracted

I will bide my time and pick up doors and guards as the become available at the right prices

Meanwhile there's a bit to do in stripping this one down

Removed the valance and the front guards ... some rust . not much - probably 3 places where you could poke a ball point pen through and several smaller holes (that's after I wire brushed it)
But as expected the metal is thin in parts and the front rail under the radiator seems to be moved slightly

Well probably not ideal to get in a wreck in one, but I am pretty sure that there were safety standards on cars in the 1970s. 1200's would have had to comply with them.

haha yea surely if you cared about car safety you would never drive a 1200. I mean I have no experience or knowledge of them in crashes but just driving one and looking at one they look like they would fair really bad in a major collision...
