Yeah it came with the roof and it neatly fits over the cage and lines up well where it was cut.

Next time I dig it out of the shed I'll put it on and take a photo.

Wow

that's one way to install a roll cage!

Would you get a roof on that if you wanted to?

Thanks for the welcome.

This 1200 Coupe I bought quite a few years ago for no other reason than I couldn't help myself. No solid plans apart from doing 'something' with it one day.

Hi Slowbuild, welcome to the club. Sounds like a nice project. I would look for a Pintara wagon at the wreckers for the leaf spring plates. Did the wagon come with leaf springs?

First off, thanks for the great forum! I have visited here many times over the years for the technical information, and I usually get stuck ogling everyones setups.

Quite a few years ago I bought a stock '72 1200 coupe which came with a z18et and gearbox that the previous owner was planning on putting in. I drove it stock for a year or two until the head gasket went and then I decided to do the engine swap. The car has hardly moved in years since I made that decision

So far I have installed modified r31 struts and brakes from Datsport as well as new steering etc. I have had an r31 diff shortened to fit but haven't fitted it yet as I am having trouble sourcing leaf spring plates to accommodate the larger axle tubes. I have also just ordered a set of reverse eye king springs as well.

I'm really keen to get the engine and gearbox mounted now which is proving difficult with me living about 500km from where the car is currently stored. I have read the info in the tech wiki about doing a Z (L) engine swap but I'm still not confident this is something I can do on my own.

I have noticed from reading the wiki's that some L engine parts are compatible with the Z engine but no doubt I will have some questions to ask about parts and modifications.

Any help with general info about the engine swap or anything else would be really appreciated.

Sorry I have no pics of the car at the moment, I will get some next time I visit Sydney.

I also have a 1200 coupe that the previous owner had begun to setup for sprint racing. It has a huge roll cage and not much else I'll try to roll it out of the carport in the near future and upload some photos of it.

Cheers, Slowbuild.
