Got a stable and smooth idle today with the tested flows inserted and turning all control loops off. So I have a starting point. The CBR1000RR injectors flow 240cc/min at 40psi. I measured a negative open time correction which the tuner won't accept so I just set it to zero and will have to compensate elsewhere. Away from idle that correction doesn't matter.

Found a little time to tinker this weekend. I built an injector tester. Photos are a bit dark but pretty much the Adruino just switches the injector on and off.

I'm having an trouble with my adjustable fuel pressure regulator, it's a different pressure nearly every time I use it. Anyone suggest a good one? I might just switch to the second-hand non-adjustable OEM Bosch one for now.

It shouldn't matter at steady flow but you raise a valid point. I'm not to keen on taking it all apart again just yet. I'll flow test my injectors first and try manually tuning it open loop. I haven't had time to get back to it this week other than a bit of time last night trying to get the MSII to do the injector test properly. I'm going to program a micro to do it instead, that'll be quicker.

is there any chance there's a bit of fuel drop out at low rpm/idle due to stuff all intake flow and that 180 turn? that'd easily enough lead to errative a/f readings.

I don't know whether to suggest this or not, but you could try passing an oxy torch over teh manifold (engine off, and insulation wrap removed) and heating the runners up and then starting it and seeing if it affected the idle, and if it then started to deteriorate as teh runners cooled back down. I'm not suggesting you get them glowing white hot or anything mind you!

The manifold is mild steel.

The white connections are earths. It's an EDIS8 ignition running of a trigger wheel in the dizzy. The EDIS coils are different to most in that the high tension side has each end connected to a plug. Most coils one end is earthed. I wasn't sure how closely the inductance had to match the stock setup so I used the stock coils for now. Later I'll look for something a bit more compact that I can mount somewhere else.

Nothing wrong with a bit of wood and mild steel, its heritage with a modern difference :)

What are the extra white connections on the ford coils? its almost like the wasted spark on the 8 plug nissan engines without the extra spark plugs?? electronics stump me everytime
