There have been some pretty good write-ups on all things turbo on the Steve Murch- Motor Sport Engineering facebook page

That intake reminds me of the garret drawthrough intakes for holdens. They didn't 'look' all that flash to the untrained eye, but the were good enough in the key areas to get the things working. Guy's have put toranas into the 9s with those setups, you tend to start reaching the structural limitations of the blocks around the same time you reach the limits of boost/drawthrough setups in general with them.

I'll be using something fairly similar on the road car. They're probably equally as rare now, but the short hose to join turbo compressor to intake manifold - used to cost a fortune from various vendors, but the HQ fuel tanks had a short hose just as thick (and of course fuel resistant) between the tank and the filler, and they were dirt cheap. That was back circa 1989-90 mind you!

Heres the original thread
http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/v ... =ASC&type=&mode=0&start=0

but missing the first halve which I cant find, maybe DD is more resourceful (I know he is)

Also Harry had the best manifold for a drawthrough I believe, even better than the topgear one, it was a work of art with unitary inlet and outlet but the looks and finish is second to none. Some person is lucky to have that somewhere just wished there where more around.

Topgear locked his stock points dizzie at 10 degrees, cheap as chips just shy of 100kws at the wheels it seemed to make a good alternative to a stock sr20de or ca18de for hp and Tq with 35kg less weight. Thick ringed pistons on the A series and even its lesser hp competitor K series corolla engines have amazed many. There have been 3 or more A12-A15 turbo setups across the world ranging from 200hp-370hp in QLD, Perth, Vic and Finland.

Even in NA Rallytwit proved in the past using stock prepped internals along with some arp rod bolts how As can handle all kinds of punishment. I love these little engines more each day.

How to Turbocharge or Supercharge Carburetor engines

Hey guys, Can someone please post up or write up everything needed (ecu, turbo, supercharger etc)
ECU is almost never used with a carbureted engine. Just make absolutely sure it is jetted rich then simple setups work well with a completely stock A-series engine. Note that other engines may need lots of engine work to survive, but the a-series is tough to begin with. Sikyne made 160 HP from stock A12 with stock A14 head.
