>maybe someone in sydney can show me >ow to upload photos
just go to the photo album main page and go and click 'add a new one' just under the main listing... then you just select a picture on your computers harddrive and it uploads.. pretty straightforward

npz.. I am actually seriously considering the megasquirt unit and making my own manifold. even if I go the 4ag route, the megasquirt will be an improvement over the factory efi computer. this page has given me inspiration : www.sdsefi.com/techinta.htmtake a look around the main site , there are many helpful tech articles.

tom,do you mean the photos,or do you mean the manifold?i've got plans of my own,it's going to go into the sunny panel van with the 1510 cc a14,along with the 5 speed & the slipper diff.really, the manifold is very small, more for torque than power,& both the one's i have had have cracked around the number one & two inlet runners.the first one i sold to someone who was going to radically modify it,& this one i managed to get repaired.maybe that's the reason they're so scarce, they kept breaking so they were thrown away.you can't even port them out without hitting air.ps maybe someone in sydney can show me how to upload photos,i've been on this site about as long as i've had this computer,so i'm pretty new to that part, but i've been racing 1200's for over 15 years,so i've got lots of stuff to share with everyone.lots of photos, manuals, etc.pps reading computer books doesn't seem to work either, they just send me to sleep,a good cure for insomnia.

I must admit that I didn't try very hard to install the alternator on the exhaust side of the A-14. Since I didn't have an A-12 bracket, I took a quick look at the A-14 mount and decided it wasn't going to be worth the effort to make it fit. Besides, wire is cheap. Oh yeah, when the lower radiator hose blew, it didn't fill my alternator up with hot water either. So that's a bonus.

the alternator bracket from a 1200 is almost right to go on the exhaust side of the a14/15,you just have to elongate (get a file in & file it out)the back mounting hole,i think.as for the driveshaft/tailshaft,the a14/15 boxes available in australia had the same size shaft & splines on the output shaft as the 1200 a12 gearbox,so the tailshaft will slip in.as for fuel injected a series,it was a japanese model only sunny motor,i've got a manifold here, again,as soon as i learn up on this scanner,i'll post some photos.the best, most factory-engineered looking way to fit the a14 is to get the crossmember from a post 78 1200 ute,the a14 goes right onto the original uprights without offset plates, which can lead to engine mount failures.i got one or two of them too, though i'm in the wrong state to help.

Has anyone tried to put the alternator on an A14/15 in the A12 spot? I saw an orn/red coupe at Shasta this year and he had the alt on the A14 in the A12 spot. I'm not sure how he did it. Also, when i change my 4spd to a 5spd, I dont remember changing the drive shaft. Whatever, its always a good idea to check. angelo

does anyone know about the EFI A14s that are reputedly kicking around? I have heard from a couple of people that say they have seen them but never seen any info on the web of their existance nor layed eyes on one. if anyone has a pic of one I would be interested to see it. I know toyota made efi version of the 4k , maybe they are getting confused with this?
If they do exist I would like the manifold to go onto my engine when I build it up!

Check out the photos of Gil's engine mounts, there are two, a left and a right in the photo section. Another thing to be aware of is the alternator is on the opposite side of the engine (at least in America) on the A-14/15. You will need to address that issue as well as the different way the heater hose integrates into the lower radiator hose. Also, unless your car is an automatic, the driveshaft won't fit the B-310 transmission. The yoke on the 1200 four speed is a wee little tiny thing. I'm sure I've left out quite a bit but that link from 1200rallycar's reply should spell it out pretty well. It is a fairly straight forward swap that shouldn't tax you too badly if you have any mechanical ability.

sunny, dunno i got mine from a wagon if that helps, some sunnys have a15's and maybe some have a-12's not sure, check the number on the block not on the plates cause the blocks are so interchangedable, and check the gearbox isnt 5-speed though this is not likely you never know (just see if the gear-stick will go right and up)
edit: thats if youre getting one from a wrecker
