Keep at it, it took me almost 2 years :/

I'm sure you'll find the right one in the end!

This one popped up a couple of days ago if you're in Australia and want a coupe, might be worth a bid.

looks better than 90% of the 1200s in existence, common rust place, most 1200s have patches/plating in those areas from previous rust repairs

you could look up under the dash inside the car at the corners where the cowl meets the firewall/kickpanel and check for holes there to indicate if the cowl is rusting out, but again most 1200s have holes there or repairs there by now

Defiantly have a thorough look, rails are the most important, rusted rails under the car isnt too bad to repair, plus nothing a little tar won't cover ;).

I would ask him to take it off or you could reach your arm up and underneath the fender and have a feel around to save some time. but then again you can't see whats under there.

Common for them to rust out along there. Could be rust in the cowl and floor seams too.
Check upper chasis rail under the guard too. Basically under where that rust is.
Rust in those corners is a pain to fix

Hey Guys,
im fairly new to the forum and coming back to Datto's(cars in general) after many years of responsibilities etc getting in the way :) . Im looking for a project car and ive come across something that im pretty keen on but just had some reservations when i saw parts of the engine bay.. Perhaps i can throw up a couple of pics and if anyone here has any thoughts or opinions that could help me and perhaps give me abit of confidence to go ahead i would appreciate it. my concern is the welds / joins on these strut towers and the possible cancer in the corners .. does this stuff look fairly standard to you guys or you see a problem (note: left hand tower as you look at the engine bay picture)..
thanks in advance for any input :)

i cant get the filesize below 200k so i will post the links below to see them:
