Hi ghost616, as your question is unrelated to the FIAT topic here, feel free to create a new topic for your question.

The fiat tc engine is a design made by famous Ferrari engineer and raced extensively by abarth fiats. Its the engine that the ca18 is based on cast steel but lightweight and strong. needs no pollution gear or catalyc crap. Very strong all round cheap and the 10:1 comp 1608cc version can be had with factory 43.5 inlet valves and 38 exhausts. After market valves are known to go up to 49mm thanks to the hemi chambered design. Fiats are not reliable and rust like the titanic, but engine and boxes are one of the toughest in the world. Reason for unreliabity is because they were assembled by depressed unhappy underpaid people in different parts were labour was cheap.
Turbo versions are known to go up to 400+ hp in the 2ltr versions with 2 valve heads before Rigoli went to the lancia 16v head
check out rigoli's site under projects.
The Fiat tc is light and compact its a winner for budget non computer set ups.

if you have all the things you need and can do it ur self why not you can only find it has no power and if that is so then take it out and put the original back in as long as there isnt mager mods done to get it in there so bad that you cant put the old motor back in its fine so yer i hope you can understand that

If the exhaust manifold does not hit the steering box you should have no trouble. There's really no difference which side of the car the exhaust comes out on. You can run the pipe down then over to the other side when it passes the transmission. sounds like a neat swap to me.

I too had a Fiat 124 coupe - ALL standard 1608cc twin cam, twin side draft webers, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs and would redline in 5th. Not bad for a 1971 car - went fast and stopped quick - best standard car I ever owned. I'm a datto man now though because they cop the abuse and lurve it.

YEah I was just gonig to point out that the fiat engine that the Rigoli's use is larger in size than 1400 (2 litre I think??) and it is also modded quite a bit as well.
But I think the main reason that they used the fat engine is because they used (Mayeb still do have) that metallic blue fiat which had almost exactly the same engine in it. And they decided that the thing that stopped the quarter mile times being any lower ws the weight. hence the 1200...
But yeah back to the engine it might not even be the same series of engine.
CAn't judge the entire engine just be who made it. I am sure that just about every manufacturer has made some lemons...

I am just blabbering now.
