Yes, both carbs are 38mm

L16 and A12 require 12:1 to 14:1 air-fuel ratio so the jet needles are similar. The biggest difference is the dome spring, it is heavier in the L-series carburetors. That affects the acceleration mixture.

The flat tops are the superior performers. Put them on and try it. The large 46mm flat tops from 240Z are the ones that have troubles, while 38mm versions are good.

Of course the needle jet varies. Try it and see how it runs on your engine.

hi guys.

when im comparing my flat and dome top carbs, i found the flat top bottom part and accessories in very good shape compare to dome top.

so, shall i merge flat top bottom part and dome top chamber&piston and seal the ims??

does it perform same as using full dome top carburetor?

or any other suggestion?

Most FlatTops seen for sale already have the anti-pollution stuff removed.

* DomeTops are easiest to adjust
* FlatTops give a superior air-fuel adjustment

Whichever you use, the spring may need to be changed. The larger engines use a heavier spring. Try it and see how it works. They should run fine on an A15 using the stock L-series parts.
