Dont forget Sprint Auto Parts fellas, they are usually heaps cheaper than those other ones. And if you ask for a deal they always knock a few dollars off.

I went to battery world for a watch battery, $4.50ea (my watch takes 3- diving watch). This was after checking online where I could get 5 for $6 delivered but I thought I would get it done today.
I know this is chicken feed, but $6 vs $22.50? This is a 375% mark up.
Buy online.

Australia is too small to have auto stores sell all the parts for every car out there, mostly usless unless you drive a holden or ford. I don't have an issue with not going to repco or super cheap since they changed to store only branding which was a sure fire business killer. Repco pads $78 bendix $80.rda brand via ebay... $40

your right, i should have been more specific. by that i meant 'low quality' chinese imports.
Im sure repco probably does sell chinese made parts.

Repco doesn't sell cheap Chinese imports? Every store here does. Some of them are high quality cheap Chinese imports.

i thought you meant that you were buying from places that had online stores only, which is why i said that repco wouldnt be able to compete.
as long as you are buying the same part and not just a cheap chinese import i cant see any reason to buy from repco then

either way theres no dilemma, buy wherever is best for your hip pocket

The places where I am getting bits are stores as well. You can buy over the counter.I am assuming they would have similar overheads as Repco and there buying power wouldn't be as good.
The only thing in Repcos favour is returning parts would be easier.Still a big difference for a problem which may not arise.

Full service auto parts stores here have overheads of running a store (premises) with employees AND are competitive online. They have web shopping pages in addition to physical stores. Check out http://m.napaonline.com or http://m.oreillyauto.com to name just a couple of our local stores.
