Do you know of a good guide on how to remove the egr stuff? Would it improve performance?

It doesn't really matter what you start with. Both platforms are comparatively equal.

The A15 would already have a H89 cylinder head on it. The A14 may only have a H75 head which is a dry manifold type meaning it does not allow coolant through to the manifold.

If you get your setup up and running I would say you would have the first operational EGI setup that has come to life in the recent decade. Lots of people buy and sell and they generally move around the country but few people take it on and complete it. I'm wishing you all the best. My project also stalled as I couldn't source an original ECU.

Hi Chris wow thanks for all the information.. is it worth doing all of this on a stock a15 I wonder if an a14 might make a better starting point? I basically want to try and end up with a reliable smooth daily driver hence investiagting stock.. I found an a15e stock ecu and wiring harness but am still wondering if I take you up on that offer re your last setup.. ny concern with extractors would be the old ecu wouldnt know how to handle it.. or would it be better as a starting point to use a megasquirt

Not sure how to remove the emissions stuff actually.. is there something on thr wiki?

Both manifolds feature two external ports, other than the main outlet port below.

The manifold to the left is pictured installed in the image below. Note the early A14E had a more regular look rocker cover.

Here are the first two, others are buried. These both came off A14E, see the outlet angle differences.

Tom I have four or five A14E exhaust manifolds, were you the same Tom messaging me on the facebook page? If so I did not make the connection, apologies, I will get some pictures uploaded for you.

It would be exceptionally hard, and expensive.

Extractors would be fine, it depends what sort of installation you're going to undertake, are you going a full original configuration or are you removing all the EGR excess?

Thanks Chris I really appreciate it... and do you know if finding an a15e exhaust manifold would be tricky? Or can you run extractors?
