OK so it's saturday and i should be doing s/thing constructive but i'm so pissed off cos the vet injured my dog[pitbull]took him to remove damaged nail on left foot and she cuts right toenail to short and it bleeds like flippin hell.I wanted to pull a oscar pitorius on her anyway i decided to phone my brother and go check out the new datsun.OK so we get there and a young female sales person rocks up.It don't matter to me cos most of them are bs's or dont know what they talking about.She was ok though --2 weeks in the job and a bit of a tomboy type.OK the new Datsun --Parked --gaps at panels look ok,lift bonnet and lots $ saving inside of bonnet has like a primer colour but who the hell cares, panels look quite thin, then again the renaults are plastic,engine work space looks ok and sounds ok,dont know if the datsun nuts are gonna get 400hp outa her like the zeod 1.5, carpets a bit crappy [thin] but then again so are the suzuki swift sport looks more or less the same,doors close nicely with slight push cos you have not got the opening that 'sporty' cars have,i don't missthe cubby at all but the rack at bottom is ok.Power steering is nice and aircon lol. Gauges ok even has small rectangular digital rev counter on the right bottom cnr. seats look cheap but dont sit to bad.My brother[average size with slight extra weight] got in the back seat and there's lots of space.Legs straight and there's still a fist gap between knees and front seat,door covers very plastic but ok,boot space --well bigger than my wifes swift sport boot.wheels like marie biscuits 13",boot and tank lever next to seat,h/brake like old merc--pull out of dash,one nice thing no trim and crap on the outside just groove either side for water with no rubber to start rust.Roadtest --well we were three adults and i personally feel this 3cyl pulls ok and hardly any engine noise considering the crappy carpet.no noise with gear change and quite a pleasant drive [i did not drive myself cos i was watching her legs] AND i have to say this was a town drive[more like a few blocks]No i dont have shares at schus nissan or datsun.SO cool quite a nice car for the first time buyer -- u got fuel inj so all u need is a turbo and seats and kit it out like the white one they have photo's of 'datsun go photos' All in all i think its not a bad buy 89k and 99k which is approx 9k & 10k for u aussies.I'm sure one of those tuners are going to get hold of one and see if they can make the same hp as the one in the zeod. Thats i---geez i forgot two things Exhaust --small pipe -- i reckon smaller than the old standard datto 1200 and the plastic hubcaps are push-on just the thing to be stolen in south africa-- oh and she had good legs -- made the drive worth it
