I had no idea I was always under the impression it was wasted spark only.. I wonder if removing the edis module and using the haltech I'll still be able to achieve the same result

EDIS does sequential spark, and does not use a Camshaft Position Sensor. All it needs is the 36-2 trigger wheel and a magnetic sensor.

Would edis and a cas allow sequential spark? Is that the basics? Does anyone know if an s14 cas would fit? I know an s13 does

I did not use a condensor. Just a shielded cable. EDIS uses a magnetic VR sensor (2-wire) instead of a Hall Effect sensor (3-wire).

Hi DD just wondering on your setup did you use the 25uf condenser? or did your megajolt take out that signal noise?

Im wondering whether I use an edis coil pack or just use 4 ls1s with a hallf effect and trigger wheel in wasted spark?

Good idea

You can make a Cam position sensor with no moving parts, but it is not needed. It is used for sequential EFI which has the lowest emissions and highest fuel economy. For high power batch injection is just fine.

Thanks David,
I just figured if I was going to go to the trouble of attempting EFI it would be good to try and get rid of the distributor at the same time.

For EFI, no CPS or sensor is needed -- it will work with a stock points distributor.

The main advantage is being able to adjust the Spark Curve via software.

Haltech is good. Megasquirt can do all those functions too but costs $600 fully assembled. You can use an inexpensive Ford trigger wheel and crank sensor from an australian Ford.

Hi just wondering for an a series EFI build what people would recommend?
At present I'm thinking of using a Haltech ecu.

I like the idea of using a trigger wheel for spark because it doesn't have moving part wear like a camshaft position sensor.

Just wondering if this would be ok to use? Haltech should be able to work without the need for the edis module using 4 LS coils.

Just wondering what the advantage, disadvantage of doing it just with the Haltech might be?
